Modern Foreign Languages

Maths

We aim to promote an interest in and an awareness of the languages and culture of other countries, and in particular French, Spanish, German and Mandarin-speaking countries around the world. Students will have the opportunity throughout Key Stage 3 to study two of the four languages as per their choice.

Many students continue with one language to GCSE, although it is possible to carry on with more than one language with our fast-track Double Languages option in two European languages.

All European languages are offered at A Level.

We welcome students who come to the school already proficient in a foreign language and we are happy to facilitate an early GCSE where appropriate.

We offer individual conversation practice to all our A Level learners.

Outside the classroom, we have regular languages competitions and events. Trips include those to France, Germany, Spain and even China!

If you have any questions about our curriculum please contact us via the main office or use our Enquiry Form.
