It's no secret that the Food Hall at Bartholomew School is very popular among students and staff, who return daily to sample the delights of the menus that our catering team provide each week. Nothing like the school dinners many bemoan from their past, the food at Bartholomew School is delicious, healthy, and inspiring and offers something for everyone at exceptional value. The 'Chef's Theatre', whereby dishes are put together in front of students, against a carefully curated soundtrack, create an atmostphere that delights students and tempts them to try new dishes. What shines through is the passion for good food and commitment to educate students, showcasing seasonal, local produce and introducing flavours from different cuisines. All this contributes towards a happy school whose ethos of wellbeing is baked into everything we do (excuse the pun!).

Love British Food fortnight takes place at the end of September each year and offers a wonderful opportunity to create a celebratory atmosphere in the Food Hall. The Food Hall is adorned with bunting and baskets of wonderful vegetables (anyone for tromboncino?). There are some keen allotmenteers among our staff who have been kindly donating an assortment of vegetables from their plot, and these have been incorporated into the dishes on offer each day. Our links with our local butcher, Cricks, ensures we are able to provide wonderful cuts of meat and celebrate our community.

As previous winners of the Love British Food Awards, the team are very proud and inspired. Head Chef Victoria Buob-Aldorf, comments, "At Bartholomew School, l am thrilled and very proud to support British Food Fortnight. I work daily with the team, teaching students to love good, seasonal British, well cooked, nutritious food. Love British Food fortnight offers a brilliant way to showcase the food nature has to offer and nurture a passion for food that grows from strength to strength each year."

Mrs Buob-Aldorf is determined and excited to inspire other catering teams to shout about Love British Food, and spread the word and says she will, "continue to deliver this message and look after all the amazing young people to the best of my ability with the hard-working team at Bartholomew School".
